At the Australian Masters Games join us in the fight against Australia’s biggest killer

The Heart Foundation is proud to be the official charity partner of the XVII Australian Masters Games. Participating in physical activity is great for your heart health, so you are already a winner.

As a participant in the games, you are invited to flex your fundraising muscles for the Heart Foundation.  We can help guide you through the fundraising process and are here to support you every step, pedal or splash of the way.  It’s easy to get out of the fundraising starting blocks today; start by creating your own online fundraising page and we’ll be in touch soon.

For more than 60 years, the Heart Foundation has been fighting for Australian hearts.  Sadly, heart disease takes 51 lives every day.

The Heart Foundation relies on the generous support of everyday Australians. If you are joining our fundraising effort or making a donation to your ‘Heart Hero’ at these games, we say – thank you. Generous support from people like you is the reason we can continue our lifesaving work.

Let’s get moving for heart health

Around 8,000 participants from across Australia and overseas will be taking part in the 17th Australian Masters Games in Adelaide from 5-12 October.

One of the aims of the games is to boost physical activity for people over the age of 30. Did you know that regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do to prevent and manage chronic diseases, including heart disease?

Unfortunately, 56% of Australians are not active enough for good health. Once people turn 18 they are less likely to be active. The Heart Foundation estimates that inactivity contributes to 14,000 deaths a year, many from heart attack and stroke.

As a heart health champion, you can help us encourage others to get active for a longer, healthier life.
